Capital Campaign

Dear Friends of St. John Neumann:

My brother Redemptorists and I thank you for your ongoing generosity and sacrifice in support of our efforts at the National Shrine of St. John Neumann over these many years. Our vision continues to grow and expand for Shrine Ministry as we look to create a more complete experience for all who make pilgrimage to us. Week after week pilgrims, old and young alike, visit the Shrine to be touched by God through the intercession of our Saint. Isn’t this exactly what our faith teaches us as Catholics: that saints are a pathway to God?

With the new additions of a media center, a curated museum reflecting the life and ministry of St. John Neumann, an expanded gift shop to meet today’s daily and online needs, and a café that will enable pilgrims to pause together and reflect with one another on the pilgrimage experience, we believe we are creating a Shrine for the future! There are countless approaches to evangelize and proclaim God’s Good News to the world. The life and charism of St. John Neumann, as portrayed at our Shrine now, and in an even more expanded way when our project is completed, will help God’s people to deepen their faith and hope.

Those of you who have made pilgrimage to us recently have experienced the breathtaking and extensive renovations that have masterfully been executed in the last 3 years. All of these improvements have been financially supported almost solely by the Redemptorists of the Baltimore Province. Now we are seeking a partnership with you, the Friends of St. John Neumann, as we ask for your prayers along with your financial support.

The total cost of the project is $4.5 million dollars. When you read the enclosed brochure which depicts the ministry we engage in today and the ministry we hope to continue with your support, envision the new experience we will be offering our pilgrims! There are architect’s renderings, pilgrim benefits, and also information about how you may partner with the Redemptorists in this very significant effort. Enclosed is a pledge card which allows you to fulfill your gift over a period of time.

Some Friends of St. John Neumann have already asked us what amount of contribution we are expecting. We simply reply that whatever is a significant gift for YOU, will be a most generous response.

We continually remember our benefactors in our daily prayer at the Shrine. Thank you again for all you do for us year after year, and may God bless you and St. John Neumann strengthen you!

Sincerely,
