Throughout our 161 years of Shrine Ministry, faithful devotees of St. John Neumann chose to name the Shrine as a benefactor in their last will and testament. It remains for us, a very humbling and inspiring act to contemplate when we receive notification that we were gifted savings of one’s life because of a connection with St. John Neumann, the Shrine or the Redemptorist Community.
All forms of donations help us to continue our Shrine Ministry and to keep this consecrated ground in beautiful condition for those who visit us. There are many bequest approaches to offer support to the Shrine. Here are a few ways of designing bequests that may help you to create a way to leave a legacy gift to the Shrine.
A Specific Bequest: one can designate a specific monetary amount or asset to the Shrine.
A Residual Bequest: one can plan to donate all or a portion of one’s estate after other specific bequests have been distributed to loved ones.
A Percentage Bequest: one can earmark a chosen percentage of an estate to be given to the Shrine.
A Contingent Bequest: one can select the Shrine to be the recipient of a bequest if the others named in the will are not living at the time of one’s death.
Whatever decision is made regarding the type of legacy gift left to our Shrine, the charitable act will be deeply appreciated by the Redemptorists of the Baltimore Province who provide the spiritual leadership for the Shrine Ministry! - Sends a noteworthy message to your heirs that the Shrine, St. John Neumann and/or the Redemptorists were important to you during your time on earth.
- Sends a message to us, here at the Shrine, that you felt comforted by the intercession of St John Neumann, the Shrine and /or the Redemptorist Community.
- Supports the continuation of our Shrine Ministry to promote St. John Neumann to those who need to know him, after you have left this earth.
